2007-2011
PhD student with the IBERIA GAP project and funded by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science (FPI Fellowship)

I’m a PhD student under supervision of Miguel B. Araújo and Mar Cabeza working in the IBERIA GAP project. I am interested in analyzing how climate change is affecting the species distribution patterns, using modeling tools. My research interests lie primarily within the fields of conservation biology and ecological modeling
During the course of my PhD my main aims are: (i) working on methods to improve the effectiveness of protected areas to conserve species under a range of global change scenarios, (ii) exploring the effects of land use, land cover and climate change on Iberian bird distribution, (iii) exploring the role of spatial connectivity in conservation planning
Currently I’m involved in the following projects: (i) Identifying the remaining wildlife linkages between similar protected areas in the Iberian Peninsula, based on environmental characteristics, (ii) Exploring the role of potential vegetation for predicting future bird distribution
